The Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC) has signed three important agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) in Egypt. These agreements focus on building stronger cooperation in defence industries, improving aircraft support, and expanding technical abilities between the UAE and Egypt. The signing took place during the EDEX 2025 defence exhibition held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center from 1 to 4 December.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of senior officials from both nations, including Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, and Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation. AMMROC CEO Jasem Al Marzooqi and Major General Engineer Mukhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of AOI, officially signed the agreements. These partnerships are designed to improve collaboration in aircraft systems, manufacturing support, and advanced maintenance for various defence platforms.
The first MoU was signed with the AOI Aircraft Factory. This agreement sets a clear framework for cooperation in producing and developing aircraft components, structures, and systems for fixed-wing aircraft, jets, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The partnership includes aligning production lines with AMMROC’s needs, setting up dedicated manufacturing areas, and raising inspection and testing standards.
The agreement also focuses on knowledge transfer and technical training. Both sides aim to create joint proposals that support the increasing regional and global demand for aircraft components. This reflects their shared goal of building stronger and more advanced aviation capabilities.
The second MoU was signed with the AOI Engine Factory and Digital Manufacturing Center. It aims to strengthen cooperation in areas such as engine repair, overhaul, manufacturing, treatment, and supplying engine components. This includes producing rotating and static parts, housings, frames, and shafts, along with improving heat-treatment and coating processes.
The agreement also supports precision manufacturing, technical training, and expanding the factory’s operations to meet AMMROC’s growing engine programme requirements. Through digital manufacturing, both sides aim to improve efficiency and reliability to support long-term aviation needs.
The third MoU was signed with the Helwan Factory for Advanced Industries. This agreement focuses on enhancing helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities. It covers cooperation in servicing helicopter systems, making or modifying selected parts, and developing upgrade and modernisation programmes.
The partnership also includes building specialised workshops and production lines, developing composite structures, and running joint training programmes. Both organisations aim to explore new cooperation opportunities in regional markets, improving the overall capability of helicopter support systems.
Dr. Nasser Al Nuaimi stated that these agreements highlight the UAE’s commitment to building strong defence partnerships, especially with Egypt. He said these collaborations help support modern industrial capabilities and strengthen supply chains for future defence goals.
Mahmood Alhay Alhameli added that Egypt offers strong industrial potential, and these agreements will help expand long-term regional cooperation. AMMROC CEO Jasem Al Marzooqi said the MoUs reflect AMMROC’s mission to grow its presence in the region and improve operational readiness for military fleets.
Through these three MoUs, AMMROC continues its efforts to expand partnerships, transfer expertise, and enhance capabilities in the defence aviation sector. The company is also displaying models of the F-16 and C-130 aircraft at EDEX 2025, showcasing its advanced MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) services.
These agreements mark a major step in strengthening the relationship between the UAE and Egypt in defence aviation while boosting cooperation in aircraft development, engine support, and helicopter systems.
