Bahrain has strongly condemned the Iranian drone attack that targeted its territory early on Saturday, describing it as a serious violation of the country's sovereignty and a direct threat to the safety of its citizens and residents.
In an official statement, Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the drone attack represented a flagrant breach of the Kingdom's sovereignty. The ministry also called it a clear threat to the security of Bahraini citizens and residents, as well as a violation of international laws and conventions that prohibit attacks on civilian facilities and the intimidation of civilians.
The ministry said Iran's continued attacks come at a time when regional and international efforts are focused on reducing tensions. According to the statement, Tehran bears full responsibility for undermining ongoing peace efforts. Bahrain further accused Iran of following a policy that destabilises regional security, exports chaos, and weakens stability across the region.
The statement also referred to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). Bahrain said the resolution was submitted on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Jordan, and received the support of 136 countries. The ministry described the resolution as a strong sign of broad international agreement on the issue.

It also called on the United Nations Security Council to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring the implementation of Resolution 2817 (2026) and by holding the aggressor accountable.
