United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed serious concern about the growing violence and rising tensions in the Middle East.
He strongly condemned any form of military escalation, including the recent attack carried out by Iran on the territory of Qatar. The Secretary-General said such actions only make the situation worse and increase the risk of a larger conflict.
He once again called on all parties involved to immediately stop the fighting and avoid any steps that could lead to more violence. He stressed the need for dialogue and calm, urging everyone to work together toward peace and stability in the region.
Guterres also reminded all UN member countries of their responsibility to follow the UN Charter and respect international law. He said it is important for nations to act responsibly and avoid actions that could harm regional or global peace.
