Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, inaugurated the First Bahrain Veterinary Conference and Exhibition 2025 today at the Gulf Hotel. The two-day event has attracted wide participation from both local and international experts, companies, and veterinary professionals.

In his opening remarks, the minister highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to supporting the livestock sector as a key pillar of food security and sustainable development. He explained that the conference provides an important platform to share knowledge, exchange expertise, and launch initiatives that strengthen veterinary medicine across the country and region.

Honorees included the late Dr. Thuraya Ahmed Al Saffar, the first Bahraini female veterinarian; Dr. Ahmed Al Amir, the first Bahraini veterinarian; Dr. Jaffar Abdulhussain Al Iskafi, a leading expert in the field; and Dr. Nonie Coutts, a prominent veterinary professional recognized for her contributions.
