Bahrain and Italy Hold Third Round of Political Talks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic have successfully concluded the third round of political consultations. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and expanding mutual interests across various fields. This meeting reaffirmed the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations and highlighted their shared vision for stronger and more comprehensive diplomatic ties.

Leaders and Delegates at the Meeting

The meeting was co-chaired by Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Maria Tripodi, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy. Both officials led their respective delegations, ensuring that the dialogue covered key areas of mutual concern and future collaboration. Their leadership emphasized the commitment of both governments to advancing their partnership in line with recent high-level diplomatic engagements.

Positive Outcomes from Recent Visits

Ambassador Al Jalahma praised the outcomes of the recent official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, to the Italian Republic. He noted that the visit marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering constructive dialogue. The visit demonstrated the shared commitment of both nations to continue developing their partnership in a way that benefits both economies and societies.

Italy’s Appreciation and Commitment

Maria Tripodi expressed Italy’s appreciation for its strong and friendly relationship with Bahrain. She emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum through continued collaboration and mutual understanding. Tripodi also underlined Italy’s readiness to work closely with Bahrain to broaden the scope of cooperation, particularly in light of the recently signed Strategic Cooperation and Investment Partnership. This new framework is expected to open fresh opportunities for joint economic and trade ventures between the two countries.

Both sides agreed that the recently signed Strategic Cooperation and Investment Partnership represents a major milestone in strengthening economic relations. Bahrain and Italy view this partnership as a vital platform to boost mutual growth and enhance their presence in regional and global markets.

Both countries expressed readiness to sign new agreements and memoranda of understanding in multiple fields.
