Bahrain's National Guard Commander, His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, held talks with Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, Director General of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), during a meeting in Islamabad aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on enhancing defence coordination and building on the longstanding partnership that has developed between Bahrain and Pakistan over the years.
According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa emphasized the strong and steadily developing relationship between Bahrain and Pakistan.
He praised the progress achieved in defence cooperation and military collaboration, noting that both countries have continued to strengthen ties through regular engagement and shared interests.
The meeting provided an opportunity for officials from both sides to review existing areas of cooperation and examine ways to deepen collaboration in the future.
During the talks, the two sides discussed several issues of mutual concern and explored opportunities to broaden defence cooperation.
Officials also considered ways to improve coordination in support of common objectives and reinforce the longstanding strategic relationship between Bahrain and Pakistan.
While specific details regarding future initiatives were not disclosed, the meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to maintaining close military and security ties.
Brigadier Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Training at Bahrain's National Guard, also attended the meeting.
His presence reflected the importance attached to operational and training cooperation as part of the wider defence relationship between the two countries.
Bahrain and Pakistan have maintained close relations for decades, with cooperation extending across political, economic and defence sectors. Military collaboration has remained an important component of the partnership, supported by exchanges and ongoing coordination between security institutions.
