Bahrain and Russia have strengthened their partnership through the fourth meeting of the Bahraini-Russian Intergovernmental Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation, which took place in Moscow. The meeting was co-chaired by Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, representing Bahrain, and Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, representing Russia. Senior officials from both countries also attended, highlighting the importance of this gathering in advancing mutual interests.

During the meeting, Minister Fakhro emphasized that the discussions reflected the strong commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral relations. He said the meeting provides an opportunity to explore new areas of economic collaboration and strengthen the foundations for future projects that benefit both nations. The committee examined ways to support business partnerships, investments, and joint initiatives that could promote long-term growth.

One of the key focuses of the meeting was fostering collaboration in the scientific and technological sectors. Both sides discussed opportunities for research partnerships, innovation, and knowledge sharing. These discussions aim to create projects that encourage technological advancement, improve industrial capabilities, and support sustainable development in both countries. By working together, Bahrain and Russia can share expertise and modernize their industries to meet global standards.

The committee also reviewed current trade relations and explored strategies to increase bilateral commerce. Minister Fakhro highlighted the importance of expanding trade ties by opening new markets, reducing barriers, and encouraging collaboration between companies in Bahrain and Russia. He stressed that this cooperation would benefit local businesses and create opportunities for innovation and growth.

Cultural and educational exchanges were also discussed during the meeting. These initiatives aim to strengthen people-to-people connections, improve mutual understanding, and promote joint programs in education, research, and cultural projects. Such collaborations ensure that the partnership between Bahrain and Russia extends beyond economics and technology, building lasting relationships across multiple sectors.

The meeting highlighted Bahrain’s focus on broadening its international partnerships while advancing joint projects that support economic, scientific, and technological development. Minister Fakhro said that by collaborating with Russia, Bahrain seeks to leverage shared knowledge, improve industrial competitiveness, and encourage innovation-driven growth in line with the Kingdom’s long-term goals.

Both sides agreed to continue fostering strong cooperation and to implement initiatives that deliver practical results. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Bahrain and Russia to a forward-looking, mutually beneficial relationship that promotes sustainable growth, knowledge sharing, and industrial modernization.

The fourth session of the Bahraini-Russian Intergovernmental Committee marks another step in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Through discussions on trade, technology, science, and culture, both countries are working to expand their partnership and create opportunities for economic and industrial development.
