Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manaa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Malaysia, met with a delegation from the University College Sedaya International (UCSI) University healthcare group at the Bahraini Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between Bahrain and Malaysia in healthcare, medical research, and education.

The Malaysian delegation was led by Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, Group Chairman of UCSI Healthcare Group, and accompanied by Dato’ Peter Ng, Founder and Executive Chairman of the UCSI Group.

Focus on Medical Collaboration and Innovation

During the meeting, the UCSI delegation presented an overview of the university’s wide-ranging expertise in healthcare management, hospital infrastructure, and medical training. The group highlighted UCSI’s achievements in developing state-of-the-art medical facilities and providing internationally recognized medical education programs.

They expressed strong interest in expanding collaboration with Bahraini health institutions, universities, and medical research centers to exchange knowledge and foster innovation in patient care, digital health, and healthcare technology.

Exploring Long-Term Strategic Partnerships

The discussion focused on building long-term partnerships that go beyond academic exchange. The Malaysian representatives emphasized UCSI’s commitment to creating opportunities for Bahraini students and healthcare professionals to pursue specialized training and advanced education in Malaysia.

They also explored the potential for joint projects in medical research, hospital management systems, and telemedicine, which would strengthen healthcare capabilities in both countries.

Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah noted that UCSI’s healthcare network includes hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and research facilities that could contribute to Bahrain’s growing health sector.

Bahrain’s Growing Healthcare Potential

Ambassador Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manaa expressed appreciation for UCSI’s interest in collaborating with Bahraini institutions. He highlighted Bahrain’s well-developed healthcare infrastructure, which has attracted international investments and partnerships due to its advanced medical facilities and favorable regulatory environment.

He also emphasized that Bahrain’s Vision 2030 places healthcare among its top national priorities, focusing on quality, innovation, and sustainability. This vision creates a strong platform for international partnerships with leading global academic and medical organizations like UCSI.

Highlighting Bahrain’s Investment Climate

The Ambassador further noted that Bahrain’s business environment is open, transparent, and attractive to foreign investors, particularly in sectors such as healthcare and life sciences. He invited UCSI and other Malaysian healthcare groups to explore investment opportunities in Bahrain’s medical sector, including hospital management, training centers, and pharmaceutical research.

He emphasized that Bahrain’s central location in the Gulf region, coupled with its supportive policies and skilled workforce, makes it an ideal base for regional healthcare expansion.

Commitment to Advancing Health Education

Both sides agreed on the importance of education and research in building a strong healthcare foundation. The UCSI delegation proposed collaborations with Bahraini universities and medical training institutions to enhance curriculum design, academic exchange, and joint research in areas such as public health, biotechnology, and clinical innovation.

The meeting also discussed potential scholarships and training programs for Bahraini students and professionals in Malaysian medical institutions, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuous skill development.

Shared Vision for Regional Health Excellence

Ambassador Al Manaa reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that support national health priorities and enhance the Kingdom’s standing as a regional hub for medical excellence.

He stressed that collaboration with global institutions like UCSI would help Bahrain strengthen its healthcare system, improve public health outcomes, and encourage innovation in digital health and medical services.

The discussions concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future cooperation and the possibility of formalizing partnerships through agreements and joint initiatives.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations Through Healthcare

The meeting reflected the broader commitment of Bahrain and Malaysia to deepen bilateral relations through shared goals in education, science, and healthcare development.

By fostering partnerships in medical innovation, training, and investment, both nations aim to advance their healthcare systems, improve patient care, and contribute to sustainable development in the region.
