Post by : Shakul

In a significant event, Thailand's Minister of Education Prasert Chantharawongthong and Deputy Minister Akranan Kankittinan participated in a merit-making and almsgiving ceremony dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, consort of King Rama VII.

The ceremony was held at Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Mahasimararam Ratchaworawihan in Bangkok, marking 100 years since Queen Rambhai Barni’s birth. This gathering saw the presence of various government officials, religious leaders, and members of the public, all coming together to honor the revered royal.

Emphasizing Thailand's rich cultural and spiritual heritage, the merit-making event featured Buddhist rituals where monks conducted prayers and blessings. Officials and attendees offered alms as a sign of respect during the proceedings.

Minister Prasert emphasized that this event served as a moment of gratitude for the significant contributions made by Queen Rambhai Barni towards the nation. He highlighted the importance of instilling historical memories and cultural values in the youth and society at large.

This ceremony accentuated the enduring connection between Thai institutions and the monarchy, which plays a vital role in the country’s cultural identity. Religious events celebrating the royal family continue to influence public life across Thailand.

Wat Ratchabophit, a key royal temple in Bangkok, was a fitting venue for this commemorative occasion, known for hosting major royal events and serving as a spiritual beacon in the capital.

Participants engaged in prayers for prosperity and national harmony while paying tribute to Queen Rambhai Barni’s memory, reinforcing how Buddhist traditions preserve Thailand's heritage and royal legacy.

Further commemorative activities are anticipated to enhance public awareness of Queen Rambhai Barni's historical contributions and her lasting impact on modern Thai history.
