The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, a key institution under Qatar Foundation, marked a milestone as 106 students received their diplomas.
Degrees were awarded in fields including Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, and General Studies.
Michael Trick, the dean of CMU-Q, praised the graduating class for their resilience, dedication, and commitment throughout their academic journey. He acknowledged the unique challenges they faced during their studies but highlighted their impressive achievements that filled the university community with pride.
Farnam Jahanian, delivering his remarks on behalf of the global Carnegie Mellon community, commended the students for demonstrating strength and fortitude during unstable times and a geopolitical climate that tested their resolve. He noted the collaborative spirit among the graduates, stating they supported each other with empathy while remaining focused on their studies.
Noora Al Kuwari and Zeina Mahmoud, representatives of the graduating class, shared their experiences of their four years at the university. They expressed gratitude to the university, faculty, and academic community for the invaluable support that aided their growth both personally and professionally.

Zeina Rami Halawa and Fatou Sokhna Gueye were named Andrew Carnegie Society Scholars as well.
Moreover, Dr. Varun Sharma received the Meritorious Teaching Award in recognition of his exemplary teaching.
With the graduation of the Class of 2026, CMU-Q has expanded its alumni network to over 1,500 graduates, who are poised to contribute to innovation and development both within Qatar and globally.
