In a significant breakthrough regarding the Delhi Red Fort blast incident, law enforcement officials uncovered a flour mill and other machinery from the residence of a taxi driver in Faridabad, Haryana, allegedly used for producing explosive materials.
Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, hailing from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, is implicated in the tragic explosion that occurred near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10. Investigating officers disclosed that Ganaie utilized the flour mill at his rented space in Faridabad to process urea and extract ammonium nitrate for making explosives. Evidence indicates the seizure of 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and additional chemicals from this site.
Ganaie, employed as a medical professional at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, purportedly transferred the flour mill, grinder, and other equipment to the taxi driver’s home as supposed gifts for his sister’s wedding, later relocating them to his own rented room.
The taxi driver is currently under scrutiny by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Reports indicate that he had been acquainted with Ganaie since their previous interactions at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital.
Two of Ganaie’s associates from the university—Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow and Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag—have also been apprehended in connection to the blast. The assault, executed by suicide bomber Umar un Nabi, resulted in 15 fatalities and numerous injuries, with Nabi also connected to Al-Falah University.
The investigation has unveiled links to a broader terror network associated with Pakistan-based entities like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, allied with al-Qaeda. Authorities have confiscated over 2,900 kilograms of explosive substances, including ammonium nitrate, in related operations.
The investigation remains ongoing, with officials striving to uncover the complete network responsible for the Red Fort blast and to enhance preventative measures against future attacks.
