HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), conducted an inspection visit to review preparations for the first edition of the Doha International Music and Marching Festival, also known as the Doha Tattoo. The festival is scheduled to take place at Katara Cultural Village from December 16 to 20 and is expected to attract wide public interest. The visit reflects the importance given by Qatar’s leadership to ensuring that major international events are organized to the highest standards.
During the visit, His Excellency closely reviewed the organizational plans and technical arrangements put in place for the festival. Officials briefed him on venue readiness, performance schedules, safety measures, and coordination among participating entities. The festival will host military and music bands from several countries, highlighting international cooperation and cultural exchange. In addition, national groups from Qatar’s Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the Internal Security Force, and the Amiri Guard will take part, showcasing local talent and discipline.
The Doha Tattoo festival is designed to present a unique blend of music, marching displays, and ceremonial performances. Such events are well known globally for combining cultural expression with military precision, and the Doha edition aims to offer audiences a rich and engaging experience. Organizers emphasized that advanced technical systems and detailed planning have been adopted to ensure smooth performances throughout the five-day event.
This festival is the first event of its kind to be held in the Middle East, marking an important milestone for the region’s cultural calendar. By hosting this global-style festival at Katara Cultural Village, Qatar continues to strengthen its position as a center for international cultural and artistic events. Katara’s role as a cultural hub provides an ideal setting that brings together tradition, creativity, and global participation.
The Doha Tattoo also represents a significant addition to the international series of tattoo festivals held in major cities around the world. Through this event, Qatar aims to promote cultural dialogue, celebrate music and ceremonial heritage, and offer residents and visitors a new form of cultural entertainment. The inspection visit underlined the government’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to delivering a successful and memorable festival for all attendees.
