Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, operated by Kuwait National Petroleum Company, was targeted in a drone attack early Friday, according to a statement from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
As per Kuwait News Agency, the attack caused fires in several units of the refinery. However, initial reports confirmed that no injuries were recorded.
Emergency and firefighting teams were quickly deployed to the site and are continuing efforts to bring the situation under control while following strict safety protocols.
As a precaution, some refinery units have been temporarily shut down. Authorities also implemented all necessary measures to ensure the safety of workers and to secure the facility.
Officials are monitoring the situation closely, and further updates are expected as response operations continue.
