Attendance and Participants

The meeting included HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman, HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General, and other council board members. Also present were leaders from Dubai Municipality, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai Petroleum, Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP), and Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

During the session, the council approved the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory 2024. The 2025 Emirates Energy Award winners were also announced, recognizing projects that excel in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability across Dubai.

Clean Energy Vision

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stated that Dubai continues to follow HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of making the city a global leader in clean energy. The goal is to achieve 100% clean energy capacity by 2050 through the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy.

New Regulatory Frameworks

HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi highlighted two new regulations for petroleum trading in Dubai. The Safety Policy ensures high health, safety, and environmental standards, while the Regulatory Framework enhances governance, transparency, and compliance within the petroleum sector.

Future Initiatives

The DSCE will continue driving projects aligned with UAE national strategies. These include using advanced technologies and sustainable resource management to support Dubai’s long-term development and net-zero goals. The council will monitor progress on clean energy targets and announce new initiatives in the future.

Supporting Dubai’s Sustainability Goals

The 2025 Emirates Energy Award winners represent Dubai’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practices. By encouraging innovation and rewarding excellence in clean energy, the council ensures the city remains a hub for green technologies, investment, and environmentally responsible development.

Focus on Long-Term Development

Through these initiatives, the DSCE aims to maintain Dubai’s leadership in renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and build a stronger, more sustainable economy. The council’s efforts strengthen the emirate’s position as a global model for clean energy and sustainability.
