The Dubai Financial Audit Authority (FAA) has proudly announced the graduation of its third batch of professionals from the Government Auditor Programme, part of a collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) aimed at nurturing local talent for vital oversight roles within Dubai’s government framework.
This program is integral to ongoing efforts in bolstering governance and transparency, ultimately aligning with the strategic goals set by the Authority for the various government bodies. The latest group consisted of 22 participants from 13 different government entities, all of whom engaged in a rigorous training period that intertwined academic learning with hands-on experience.
The initiative was structured in two primary phases. The initial phase emphasized theoretical knowledge, featuring 29 specialized modules that covered critical topics such as auditing with artificial intelligence, International Auditing Standards, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and best practices in governance for Dubai’s public sector entities. This phase aimed to establish a solid academic foundation that meets international norms and contemporary regulatory frameworks.
The second phase focused on practical application, allowing participants to engage in real audit projects under the guidance of seasoned FAA audit professionals. This experiential learning approach helped participants gain practical skills and confidence, reinforcing their understanding of regulatory duties. The comprehensive design of the program ensures graduates are well-equipped to execute their responsibilities efficiently, adhering to global best practices.
Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director General of the Dubai Financial Audit Authority, remarked that the graduation of this cohort underscores the Authority’s dedication to fostering a robust regulatory environment supported by qualified national talent. He emphasized that the program empowers graduates with the essential knowledge and tools to effectively fulfill their roles, aligning with Dubai’s vision to bolster oversight and accountability across government operations.
He also commended the partnership with MBRSG, considering it vital in establishing a conducive and high-quality training setting. Al Hareb expressed his confidence that the new auditors will significantly contribute to their respective departments, enhancing the regulatory landscape throughout the emirate.
Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, also congratulated the new graduates, stating that the program aligns with leadership’s commitment to invest in Emirati capabilities and promote talent that fosters sustained institutional excellence. He reiterated that human resources are essential in creating an agile and future-ready government framework.
Dr. Al Marri added that the collaboration with Dubai FAA exemplifies effective government synergy aimed at promoting transparency and sound governance. He highlighted MBRSG’s dedication to blending academic rigor with practical training, equipping local talent with cutting-edge auditing tools informed by global standards and innovative technologies to enhance fiscal decision-making and government efficiency.
The Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme continues to establish itself as a premier initiative in Dubai, imparting attendees with critical auditing skills, data analysis expertise, comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, and a robust understanding of professional ethics, along with insights into contemporary best practices in regulatory affairs.
The graduation of this third cohort emphasizes Dubai’s commitment to nurturing national talent and adapting to rapid shifts in the regulatory landscape, while also building sustainable institutional frameworks that align with the long-term aspirations of the Government of Dubai.
