Dubai and Serbia Strengthen Trade Relations in Latest Roundtable

Post by : Bianca Haleem

A significant roundtable held at the Dubai Chambers headquarters marked a pivotal moment for Dubai and Serbia, as government officials and business leaders convened to explore new trade and investment opportunities.

Organized by Dubai Chambers in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the meeting concentrated on enhancing collaboration in various promising sectors. Key areas of discussion included insights into construction, energy, IT, agri-food, healthcare, trade, fintech, industrial automation, and transportation — emphasizing a shared interest in fostering new business connections.

The discussions also focused on mechanisms to boost bilateral trade. The growing interest of Serbian entrepreneurs in Dubai is evident, with 83 new Serbian firms registering with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first nine months of the year. This has raised the total number of active Serbian companies in Dubai to 293 as of September's end.

The trade landscape reflects similar positive trends, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching approximately AED 336 million in 2024, showcasing a notable 44% growth from the previous year — a clear indicator of escalating demand, enhanced market connections, and heightened investor confidence.

As both nations pursue innovative partnership strategies and sector-oriented collaborations, the fruitful dialogue from the roundtable is anticipated to foster stronger commercial exchanges and unlock long-term economic benefits for businesses on both sides.
