The Dubai International Chamber has broadened its global footprint by establishing an international representative office in Karachi, a strategic move aimed at fortifying economic relations between Dubai and Pakistan. This opening is part of the ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, with plans for 50 offices globally by 2030, intended to bolster the emirate’s influence in international commerce.
The inauguration in Karachi was attended by officials from the UAE Consulate alongside members of Pakistan’s business community, underscoring the significance of this initiative amid rising bilateral cooperation. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Pakistan achieved AED 22.8 billion, showcasing the robust growth in trade activities.
Additionally, the business landscape has reflected this surge, with a 161% increase in Pakistani firms registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce from early 2022 to Q3 2025, totaling 33,110 members. Notably, over 6,800 new Pakistani companies affiliated with the chamber within just the first nine months of 2025.
The new office in Karachi aims to facilitate this upward trend by guiding businesses on opportunities available in each market. It will provide Pakistani enterprises with the latest market intelligence, operational setup guidance in Dubai, and connections to a vast network of public and private sector entities in the emirate. This office will play a crucial role in showcasing Dubai’s favorable business landscape and aiding market entry strategies for those looking to expand regionally or globally.
Similarly, Dubai-based businesses eager to venture into Pakistan will benefit from the office, which will provide insights on local industries, emerging investment opportunities, and crucial partnership facilitation for assured market entry.
As trade activities escalate and company registrations soar, this new office is anticipated to significantly contribute to enhancing cooperation and fostering long-term trade relations between Dubai and Pakistan.
