Heriot-Watt Dubai To Host Global Social Capital 2026 Conference

Heriot-Watt University Dubai has announced that it will host the Social Capital 2026 Conference from 26th to 28th March 2026. The event will bring together scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss the importance of social capital in building strong and successful societies.

Organisers And Purpose Of The Event 

The conference is being organised by the International Social Capital Association (ISCA). This is the first time the Social Capital conference will be held, and it aims to create a new global platform for research and dialogue. The goal is to improve knowledge, practice, and policies related to social capital.

Distinguished Keynote Speakers

The conference will feature a number of world-renowned speakers. Among them is Professor Robert D. Putnam, a political scientist and author from Harvard University. He has written famous books such as Making Democracy Work, Bowling Alone, and The Upswing. His research has changed the way the world understands community life, trust, and civic engagement. In 2012, he also received the National Humanities Medal from former U.S. President Barack Obama.

Focus Of The Discussions

Key discussions at the conference will explore how social capital influences democracy, economic opportunities, and social cohesion. Speakers will explain how trust, human networks, and strong relationships are central to building resilient societies.
