Under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), a specialised training program on protocol was organised for 20 female leaders from governmental and semi-governmental entities in Dubai. The initiative aims to empower Emirati women and strengthen their professional presence across different sectors.
Three-Day Program With Expert Collaboration
The three-day program, held from September 22 to 24, was conducted in collaboration with The Protocol School of Washington (PSOW). It focuses on developing the personal and professional skills of participants, enabling them to represent their organisations with high standards of professionalism both locally and internationally.
Promoting Excellence in Professionalism
The program aims to foster a culture of excellence rooted in institutional, diplomatic, and hospitality standards that reflect the UAE’s traditions. Participants were trained in communication skills, professional conduct, official correspondence, and strategies for handling diverse situations with confidence and poise. The training helps women present a distinguished image while representing the UAE at local and global platforms.
Supporting Female Leadership
Her Excellency Naeema Ahli, CEO of DWE, emphasised that the program reflects the Establishment’s commitment to developing female talent. She noted that empowerment is not just about qualifications but also about strengthening social and cultural presence. Protocol training helps shape strong female leaders, enabling them to represent the nation competently and confidently.
Enhancing Professional and Diplomatic Skills
The program prepares participants to excel in professional and diplomatic environments. Training in communication and effective interaction improves the work environment and builds self-confidence. Participants learn how to lead, interact with colleagues, and set a model of professionalism, in line with the UAE’s vision to support women across all sectors.
Part of Ongoing Initiatives
This program is part of a series of initiatives by DWE to support Emirati women at all professional levels. It was delivered by Mrs Pamela Eyring, President and owner of PSOW, and Mr Saeed Al-Salkhadi, Vice President of the school. The training covered essential skills in protocol and executive presence, including public speaking, personal diplomacy, dealing with dignitaries, and handling challenging situations.
Developing Leadership Through Protocol
Participants also learned about the definition and history of protocol, its importance as a leadership tool, concepts of honor in protocol, official titles and forms of address, and building a strong professional presence. These skills help female leaders represent their organisations and the UAE effectively, enhancing both personal and national reputation.
