The Saudi Falcons Club, in cooperation with the National Center for Wildlife, has launched a comprehensive falcon registration program to regulate falcon ownership and ensure compliance with environmental laws. This initiative aims to create a clear system for documenting falcon ownership, improving data organization, and maintaining a sustainable approach to this traditional practice.
The importance of this program was clear during the Saudi Falcons Club Cup 2025, held in partnership with the Eastern Region Principality in Al-Khobar, which continues until November 30. Large numbers of falcon owners visited the registration center, showing their commitment to following official procedures and safeguarding their valuable birds.
The registration process is designed to raise awareness among falcon owners about the significance of maintaining official records for each falcon. By documenting key details such as ownership, species, and movement history, the program ensures that falcon breeding and activities are conducted in line with legal requirements and environmental protection standards.
Through this initiative, falcon movement will be better regulated, preventing illegal trading or unregulated transfers. Clear ownership documentation will also strengthen the legal rights of owners and help avoid disputes, creating a safer and more organized system for falcon enthusiasts.
Moreover, the program contributes to the preservation of heritage by ensuring that the centuries-old tradition of falconry in Saudi Arabia continues in a responsible and sustainable manner. Owners are encouraged to understand their role in environmental protection, making them active participants in maintaining wildlife and cultural heritage.
The registration system also aligns with broader national goals of environmental sustainability and responsible wildlife management. It highlights the Saudi Falcons Club’s commitment to modernizing traditional practices while protecting natural resources.
Falcon owners who register their birds will benefit from official recognition and support from authorities, including guidance on proper care, breeding, and movement of falcons. This formal documentation also helps in tracking and monitoring the health and well-being of the birds, ensuring they are treated humanely and responsibly.
The program represents a key step in promoting awareness and responsibility among owners. By following legal procedures and maintaining accurate records, the initiative strengthens compliance with environmental laws and enhances the reputation of falconry as a respected cultural and sporting activity.
The falcon registration program by the Saudi Falcons Club, in partnership with the National Center for Wildlife, is a significant development for preserving falcon heritage. It ensures organized ownership, supports environmental protection, and encourages responsible practices among falcon enthusiasts. Through this initiative, the rich tradition of falconry in Saudi Arabia continues sustainably while aligning with modern regulatory and conservation standards.
