Crown Prince Inaugurates Fujairah Orchestra Headquarters

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, has highlighted the importance of music as a universal language that connects people and cultures around the world. He said music transcends barriers of nationality and language, helping to promote peace, communication, and mutual understanding among nations. His remarks came during the official inauguration of the new headquarters of the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Al Taif Business Centre in Fujairah, marking a new cultural milestone for the emirate. The event was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, along with a number of cultural officials and dignitaries. The opening of the headquarters reflects Fujairah’s growing commitment to supporting arts and culture in the UAE.

During his speech, Sheikh Mohammed praised the vision and continuous support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah. He emphasised that the Ruler’s guidance has played a key role in strengthening Fujairah’s cultural and artistic sectors. The Crown Prince expressed pride in the emirate’s efforts to develop creative industries and enhance Fujairah’s position as a centre for cultural excellence.

The Crown Prince stressed that culture and creativity are essential pillars of progress. By establishing the Philharmonic Orchestra headquarters, Fujairah is building a strong cultural foundation that will nurture talent and creativity among young musicians. He said the emirate aims to create an environment where music and art flourish as tools of education, expression, and unity.

Salem Al Falahi, Director of the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra, expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for his patronage and guidance. He said that the inauguration marks a significant milestone for the music and arts sector in Fujairah. According to Al Falahi, the new headquarters will serve as a home for musical education and performance, supporting both local and international collaboration.

Al Falahi noted that this initiative will further establish Fujairah as a regional hub for cultural and artistic innovation. He explained that the Philharmonic Orchestra will not only perform classical and contemporary works but also promote Arab and Emirati music to global audiences. The project aims to enhance the emirate’s international reputation as a destination for creativity and artistic excellence.

The opening event featured a series of live performances by the orchestra’s teaching staff and students. These performances celebrated both local and international music traditions, showcasing the orchestra’s diversity and talent. The event’s artistic programme reflected the mission of the orchestra — to use music as a means of cultural exchange and education.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, along with several directors and representatives from the emirate’s cultural institutions. Their presence highlighted the importance of cooperation between public and cultural organisations in promoting the arts as part of Fujairah’s long-term development vision.

The Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra is expected to play a vital role in nurturing musical talent across the UAE. With a focus on music education, training, and performance, the orchestra will provide opportunities for young artists to develop their skills and gain international exposure. It will also foster cultural dialogue through concerts, collaborations, and community outreach programmes.

The establishment of the orchestra headquarters is part of Fujairah’s broader vision to enhance its global presence through culture and creativity. The emirate continues to invest in artistic institutions that contribute to both social development and international recognition. Under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Fujairah is emerging as a symbol of cultural harmony and innovation in the UAE and the wider region.
