IMCTC Teaches Media to Stop Extremist Content Online

The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched its new program titled “Analysis of Extremist Discourse and Hate Speech in Digital Media: Smart Countering Tools and Technologies” in Malé, the Maldives. The program brings together 30 trainees from media and academic institutions to strengthen skills in countering extremism while promoting moderation and tolerance. Deputy Minister of Defense Fathimath Mizna Ali and several civilian and military officials attended the launch.

Objective of the Program

The training aims to equip journalists and media practitioners with essential skills to analyze digital content, understand extremist and hate speech, and counter it professionally. The initiative emphasizes accurate content analysis, source verification, and use of modern digital tools.
