The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia held a special ceremony to celebrate the graduation of 66 employees who completed the Master’s Program in Artificial Intelligence Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). This program is one of the important initiatives under the ministry’s development efforts and plays a major role in supporting its long-term vision for modern and smart technologies.
The graduation marks a major step in the ministry’s plan to strengthen its human resources through advanced knowledge and technical skills. The AI Engineering program is deeply connected to the Ministry of Interior’s Vision 2030 goals, which focus on building a skilled and future-ready workforce. By offering employees the chance to study at a world-class university like KAUST, the ministry aims to create a strong foundation for innovation across all internal sectors.
The AI master’s program was created to help participants build their professional and technical abilities in important digital fields. Through this program, students learn advanced programming, data analysis, machine learning, and solutions related to security technologies. These skills enable ministry employees to support national plans for safer communities while helping to modernize daily operations.
One of the main goals of the program is to improve systems that support safety, security, and public services. With new knowledge in automation and smart systems, graduates will be able to design and develop more efficient tools for security work. This includes using AI to detect risks faster, improving emergency response, and creating digital solutions that make services more accessible for citizens and residents.
Saudi Arabia aims to become a global leader in technology, and the Ministry of Interior is an important part of this mission. By training its employees in advanced AI fields, the ministry is building a new generation of technical experts who can drive research and innovation. The knowledge gained from KAUST will help graduates work on new ideas, improve existing security systems, and contribute to developing smart national platforms.
Another key goal of the program is to localize technological expertise. Instead of relying on external consultants or foreign companies, the ministry is preparing its own workforce to handle advanced digital systems. This supports Saudi Arabia’s push for innovation and strengthens the country’s long-term digital independence.
The graduation of 66 employees is just the beginning. The Ministry of Interior plans to continue expanding this program to train more specialists in the coming years. This development aligns with the national vision of creating a strong knowledge-based economy powered by local talent. With these new AI experts, the ministry is better equipped to build smarter, faster, and more responsive services for everyone living in the Kingdom.
