In celebration of World Children's Day, the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, has inaugurated its annual Children’s Festival, designed to promote creativity and developmental growth among children. This engaging event offers a blend of fun and educational experiences for young attendees.
Running daily from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM until November 22, the festival takes place at Katara Corniche and the Al Thuraya Planetarium. The program is crafted to provide a diverse range of interactive experiences and workshops aimed at fostering artistic expression and cultural understanding among participants.
Highlights include story-writing workshops where children can refine their storytelling abilities and express their creativity. Creative activities such as flowerpot decoration, rock painting, heritage dress decoration, and crafting hair accessories will also be available, allowing children to experiment with various artistic methods.
Children will be introduced to the elegance of traditional writing through Arabic calligraphy workshops, while theater and poetry sessions serve as a platform for cultural learning and performance. Salma Al Aleemi will lead storytelling sessions, captivating young minds with engaging tales that enhance imagination and language development.
Under the Al Thuraya Planetarium, the Qatar Astronomy Club will conduct educational shows about space, sparking interest and excitement in scientific learning. These activities aim to ensure that education is both enjoyable and thought-provoking.
A performance of the play "Great Adventure of the Little Teddy" at Katara’s Drama Theatre combines entertainment with essential messages about animal care and responsibility. Meanwhile, the Creativity Square will host an exhibition of children's artwork, showcasing their talents and providing opportunities for public sharing.
The Cultural Village Foundation reaffirms that this festival aligns with its mission to cultivate a dynamic cultural space for children. By intertwining fun, education, and cultural engagement, the event embodies Katara’s dedication to fostering a creative society from childhood.
Through this festival, Katara continues to lead initiatives that support children's educational, developmental, and recreational needs. Families can delight in a comprehensive program that marries learning with cultural appreciation and entertainment, exemplifying the foundation’s objective of enriching childhood experiences.
The Katara Children's Festival not only entertains but also empowers children to embrace new skills, express their creativity, and cultivate a profound respect for arts, culture, and science. It's a vibrant opportunity for children across Qatar to engage in a safe and joyful setting, celebrating World Children's Day while fostering lasting learning habits.
