The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Hadhramaut Governorate continued its important humanitarian mission by providing medical care to people who lost their limbs due to the ongoing crisis in Yemen. With strong backing from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the project served 519 beneficiaries during October 2025. These services aim to help patients walk again, regain strength, and improve their daily lives.
In October alone, the center completed 1,925 medical services. These included manufacturing artificial limbs, fitting them to patients, physical therapy sessions, and professional medical consultations. The goal of the program is to help people recover physically and mentally after suffering traumatic injuries.
Among those treated, 64% were men and 36% were women. The report also showed that 14% of the patients were displaced individuals, while 86% were residents living in the area. This mixture reflects the wide need for medical assistance across different communities in Yemen.
The center provides essential healthcare that many Yemenis cannot access elsewhere. This includes:
Creating and adjusting prosthetic limbs for people who have lost an arm or a leg.
Helping patients learn how to use their artificial limbs safely and confidently.
Offering physical therapy to rebuild strength and improve movement.
Providing specialized consultations to monitor each patient’s progress.
These services are designed to support long-term recovery and independence. Many patients arrive at the center unable to walk or move properly, but after treatment, they can return to work, attend school, and participate in daily life again.
This project is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian aid to Yemen. Through KSrelief, the Kingdom continues to support hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and healthcare programs to help people affected by war and displacement. By strengthening the health sector, KSrelief plays a critical role in easing the suffering of thousands of Yemenis.
The continued operation of the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center shows Saudi Arabia’s dedication to offering real, life-changing support. The center not only treats physical injuries but also brings hope to families who have lost loved ones or suffered long-term disabilities.
The work carried out in Hadhramaut highlights how important humanitarian partnerships are during crises. The assistance helps individuals rebuild their futures and restores dignity to those who were injured. With ongoing support, the center will continue to serve more patients and expand its impact across Yemen.
