The Supreme Judiciary Council has introduced a strategic plan aimed at modernizing Qatar's judicial framework through digital transformation, training, and enhanced governance.
In a briefing with Qatar News Agency, Judge Ahmed Al Mansoori, Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority, stated that the 2026-2030 roadmap is designed to align with Qatar National Vision 2030, focusing on elevating judiciary performance nationwide.
He outlined that this initiative prioritizes upgrading inspection methods, refining judicial decision quality, boosting transparency, and developing judicial personnel capabilities.
Judge Al Mansoori noted significant advancements following the enforcement of Law No. 8 of 2023, which expanded the Authority's capabilities in overseeing judicial operations and enhancing performance benchmarks.
The Judge highlighted the imperative of keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, particularly in digital systems, as a critical challenge for the judiciary.
He emphasized the Authority's vital role in bolstering judicial quality by tracking performance metrics, addressing challenges, and advocating for reforms that lead to improved judicial results.
Additionally, the Authority aims to enhance public trust in the justice system by ensuring integrity, openness, and fairness, alongside properly addressing complaints.
In his remarks, Judge Al Mansoori mentioned that the new strategy will introduce refined judicial performance indicators embedded within governance standards, utilizing data analytics for enhanced judicial efficiency.
Continuous professional development for judges is crucial, with training needs assessed via systematic inspections and reviews.
The Judicial Inspection Authority is advancing digital transformation by implementing sophisticated systems for performance tracking, data evaluation, and report generation, intended to enhance accuracy and efficiency over conventional methods.
Part of Qatar’s digital justice initiative includes leveraging modern technologies and AI in judicial oversight and operations.
Judge Al Mansoori remarked that while fast-tracking court processes is vital, it should not compromise the quality of legal decisions, underlining the Authority’s dual endeavor to enhance both aspects through revised standards and ongoing evaluations.
The Authority is also committed to fostering collaboration with judicial entities within and beyond Qatar to share knowledge and implement global best practices in judicial governance and advancement.
Looking ahead, the future of Qatar's judiciary appears bright, buoyed by robust institutional backing and the nation’s concerted efforts to cultivate a modern digital judicial paradigm that aligns with contemporary legislative and tech innovations.
Judge Al Mansoori concluded by hinting at new initiatives forthcoming in the next few years, including a governance framework, refreshed performance metrics, enhanced training programs, and fresh judicial publications aimed at nurturing institutional growth.
