The State of Qatar hosted the second edition of the “National Development Forum: Social Development Pillar” on Sunday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The event was organized by the National Planning Council (NPC) under the theme “Sustaining Prosperity in Qatari Society,” highlighting the nation’s focus on social growth and stability.
HE Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and President of the NPC, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, attended the forum, underlining the importance of social development as a key pillar of national prosperity. Their presence emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing family, society, and national identity as foundations for a sustainable future.
The forum brought together a wide range of participants, including ministers, senior government officials, private sector leaders, representatives of civil society, and local and international institutions operating in Qatar. This diverse participation created a national platform for in-depth discussions on strategies to enhance social development across the country.
During the event, speakers focused on the crucial role of social development in achieving long-term prosperity. They discussed initiatives that strengthen family cohesion, promote community engagement, and preserve national identity while fostering inclusiveness and equality. The forum also explored innovative programs that address social challenges and ensure that Qatari society continues to thrive in line with the country’s national development plans.
The discussions highlighted how family and community play a central role in supporting social development objectives. Experts shared insights on building resilient communities, empowering individuals, and fostering a sense of responsibility among citizens toward the nation’s progress. Additionally, international representatives provided best practices and experiences from other countries to help Qatar refine its strategies and programs.
One of the key objectives of the forum was to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, along with civil society organizations, to achieve sustainable social development. Panel discussions addressed topics such as social welfare, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation, aiming to create a comprehensive approach to national prosperity.
The National Development Forum serves as a strategic platform that guides Qatar in achieving its long-term social goals. It reflects the country’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens while maintaining a strong social fabric. By focusing on family, society, and national identity, the forum emphasized the importance of cohesive social policies that align with Qatar’s vision for growth and development.
