Northern Borders Region Joins 10th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Under the directions of Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan, the Northern Borders Region is actively participating in the 10th King Abdulaziz Camel Festival. The region has set up a special pavilion inside the Ministry of Interior’s Security Oasis Exhibition, designed to highlight both cultural heritage and modern quality-of-life features. The pavilion has quickly become a key attraction for visitors interested in learning more about the region’s identity and traditions.

The pavilion showcases several traditional activities that reflect the deep cultural roots of the Northern Borders Region. One of the main highlights is the northern Daha dance, performed by local groups and enjoyed by festival visitors. The pavilion also includes displays of falconry, giving guests a closer look at one of the Kingdom’s most respected and historic sports. The sound of the rababa instrument adds an authentic cultural touch, allowing visitors to experience the region’s artistic heritage.

A dedicated section of the pavilion focuses on northern hospitality, with special attention given to traditional Saudi coffee. This booth explains the preparation methods, serving customs, and the cultural value that coffee holds in Saudi society. Visitors can learn how coffee plays an important role in welcoming guests and strengthening social bonds, making it one of the most meaningful traditions in the region.

Through its participation, the Northern Borders Region aims to promote local heritage, increase cultural tourism, preserve long-standing traditions, and showcase its community’s pride. The pavilion not only enriches the festival experience but also strengthens the region’s presence and cultural representation at one of the Kingdom’s most important events.
