Pakistan Politician's Alarming Claims on Red Fort Attack

Post by : Raina Al-Fahim

New Delhi, Nov 19, 2025: Rising tensions between India and Pakistan have deepened following assertions from a prominent Pakistani politician, Chaudhary Anwarul Haq, who alleged his nation’s involvement in the car bomb explosion at Delhi's Red Fort on November 10. This tragic event resulted in 15 fatalities and injured many others, denoting one of the most lethal terrorist strikes in the nation's capital in recent history.

In a speech shortly after the explosion, Haq, a former 'Prime Minister' of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), addressed the PoK Assembly, stating, “I mentioned earlier, if India continues to harm Balochistan, we will retaliate from the Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir. By Allah's grace, we have acted... our courageous individuals have executed it.”

Although the Pakistani government has remained silent on Haq’s remarks, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif cautioned that Islamabad cannot ignore the risk of “comprehensive war” with India. Pakistan is currently on “full alert” amidst escalating regional tensions.

Context of India-Pakistan Strains
Pakistan has long accused India of instigating instability in Balochistan, a claim that India rebuffs. New Delhi argues that these allegations serve to distract from Islamabad’s support for cross-border terrorism. Investigative efforts into the Red Fort bombing have revealed connections to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a terrorist organization backed by Pakistan. The Hyundai i20 involved in the attack was loaded with ammonium nitrate fuel oil, commonly utilized in terrorist operations.

Investigations Uncover JeM's Links
Indian intelligence discovered that the terror cell tied to the attack was part of a network led by a “terror doctor,” Maulvi Irfan Ahmed from Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. This group allegedly included medical professionals from Haryana’s Al-Falah Medical College, with Dr. Umar Mohammad identified as the suicide bomber. The operation was reportedly coordinated by Ahmed and Pakistan-based operative Umar-bin-Khattab (Hanjullah), in direct association with JeM leaders.

Authorities noted that JeM is actively gathering funds for future “fidayeen” attacks in India, utilizing digital platforms, including a Pakistan-based application called SadaPay. Disturbingly, the group has also launched a women’s unit, overseen by Masood Azhar’s sister, Sadiya Azhar, to manage terror operations. Dr. Shahina Saeed, an alleged financier of the Red Fort attack, is reportedly linked to this new division, with the codename “Madam Surgeon.”

Escalation Risks in Jammu & Kashmir
Recent intelligence indicates a potential surge in Pakistan-supported terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. Organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, significantly financed and endorsed by Pakistan's military and deep state, are alleged to be orchestrating a new coil of synchronized assaults. Both factions have been involved in deadly attacks in India over the past six months.

Challenges for India and the Surrounding Region
The Red Fort bombing and Haq’s brazen claims of Pakistan's involvement heighten security alarms across India, particularly in the national capital and border regions. Security forces remain vigilant as investigations seek to identify and apprehend any remaining assailants. This incident highlights the ongoing troubles posed by cross-border terrorism and emphasizes the need for escalated counter-terrorism measures.

As diplomatic and security circumstances evolve, India-Pakistan relations seem increasingly strained, raising concerns over possible retaliatory actions and underscoring the broader instability that cross-border terrorism fosters.
