Saudi Imam Promotes Islamic Tolerance at Moscow Grand Mosque

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Prophet’s Mosque Imam Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Buaijan delivered the Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in Moscow, Russia. The event was attended by more than 15,000 worshippers, showing a strong turnout from the local Muslim community.

This visit is part of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance’s international efforts to promote Islam’s teachings of tolerance, moderation, and coexistence. Sheikh Al-Buaijan used the sermon to highlight the importance of spreading peace and understanding across different cultures and communities.

During the sermon, the Imam emphasized that Islam encourages respect for all people, peaceful coexistence, and building bridges between communities. He also spoke about the role of mosques as centers of learning, spirituality, and social unity.

The event in Moscow is one of several international initiatives by the Ministry to engage with global communities and share the values of Islam. These efforts aim to foster mutual understanding and strengthen cultural and religious dialogue around the world.

Attendees at the Grand Mosque praised Sheikh Al-Buaijan for his inspiring message. Many expressed that the sermon reinforced the importance of living with tolerance and compassion in daily life.

The Ministry’s outreach programs, including lectures, seminars, and sermons delivered abroad, are designed to counter misunderstandings about Islam and highlight its principles of moderation. By sending prominent religious figures like Sheikh Al-Buaijan to international communities, Saudi Arabia aims to promote dialogue, friendship, and peaceful cooperation globally.

This visit also strengthens the bonds between Muslim communities in Russia and other parts of the world. It provides an opportunity for people to learn about Islam directly from its scholars and to engage in discussions about faith, ethics, and coexistence.

Sheikh Al-Buaijan concluded the sermon by encouraging worshippers to uphold the values of patience, kindness, and tolerance in their communities. He also called on religious leaders and citizens worldwide to work together to build a future of peace and understanding, reflecting the true spirit of Islam.

Through initiatives like this, the Ministry continues its mission of promoting the teachings of Islam globally, showing that faith can unite people, strengthen communities, and inspire positive action.
