The State of Qatar took part on Thursday in the meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Agricultural Cooperation Committee. The meeting was held via videoconference and focused on strengthening cooperation among GCC member states in agriculture and food security.
His Excellency Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipality, Eng. Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali, represented Qatar during the meeting.
During the meeting, ministers and officials discussed ways to improve Gulf integration in strategic sectors. The discussions were held in line with the decisions made during the 19th Consultative Meeting of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC member states.
Participants also reviewed measures aimed at strengthening strategic food reserves across the region. Other key topics included ensuring the smooth operation of supply chains and making it easier for food commodities to move between GCC countries. These efforts are intended to reinforce the Gulf's overall food security system.
Speaking during the meeting, HE Eng. Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali said that ongoing regional and international developments make closer coordination and integration among GCC countries more important than ever.
