The Cabinet of Qatar, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, held its regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the continuous efforts of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to reduce tensions in the region, promote calm, and support diplomatic dialogue as the main solution for resolving disputes. These efforts are seen as important for strengthening regional and international stability and ensuring the smooth flow of energy supplies through key maritime routes.
The Cabinet highlighted several diplomatic engagements carried out under the Amir’s leadership. These included his visit to Muscat, where he held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, as well as meetings in Doha with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the President of the European Council Antonio Costa. He also participated in a joint meeting in Antalya, Türkiye, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Pakistani Prime Minister during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026. In addition, the Amir met in Doha with Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The Cabinet expressed hope that ongoing mediation efforts will be supported by all parties, leading to the strengthening of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. It also called for continued negotiations in good faith to achieve lasting peace, maintain regional stability, and protect the resources of the region’s people.
During the meeting, the Cabinet also reviewed several agenda items. These included a draft law to amend certain provisions of Law No. 11 of 2016 related to the State Audit Bureau, and it approved the decision to join the International Transport Forum (ITF).
The Cabinet further reviewed three reports and approved appropriate actions on them. These covered the results of participation in the Real Estate Future Forum held in Riyadh in January 2026, participation in the 28th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Transport Ministers Committee held in Bahrain in March 2026, and Report No. 19 of the National Committee for Civil Aviation Security.
