HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, met on Thursday with HE Scott Gilmore, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada on Foreign, Defence, and Security Policy, who is currently visiting Doha. The meeting took place as part of ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen cooperation and explore new areas of partnership.

During the discussion, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral trade and investment relations between Qatar and Canada. They also exchanged views on the best ways to expand economic cooperation in a manner that benefits both nations. According to the Ministry, the meeting highlighted several promising sectors where collaboration could grow, including technology, energy, innovation, and advanced industries.

The talks also covered a number of wider issues of mutual interest. Both officials emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue to support shared goals and maintain a strong foundation for long-term cooperation. They noted that Qatar and Canada have developed a positive and constructive relationship over the years, and both countries see great potential for future partnerships.

The visit by the Canadian official comes at a time when Qatar is actively engaging with global partners to diversify its economic links and strengthen its role in international trade. For Canada, the meeting was an opportunity to deepen ties with a fast-growing regional economy known for its stability and strategic location.

Both sides expressed optimism about the opportunities ahead and agreed on the importance of keeping communication open to support ongoing and future projects.
