The State of Qatar has voiced its strong objection to the intrusion of Israel’s extremist National Security Minister into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, accompanied by provocative acts from Israeli settlers, all under the aegis of occupation forces.
In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar characterized the incident as a blatant contravention of international law and humanitarian standards. The ministry stated that these actions are an intolerable provocation to millions of Muslims globally.
Qatar further condemned the limitations imposed on worshippers attempting to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque. The ministry cautioned that such recurring actions pose a perilous attempt to alter the historical and legal framework governing occupied Jerusalem and its sanctified Islamic and Christian sites.
The statement highlighted that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a sacred space designated for Muslims, asserting that any unilateral Israeli efforts to modify the status of Jerusalem or its sacred sites are unlawful and invalid as per international jurisprudence.
Qatar reiterated that ongoing violations and provocations could escalate violence and instability within the region, thereby jeopardizing efforts aimed at achieving peace and calm.
The ministry emphasized Qatar’s ongoing appeal for the international community to take decisive action against Israel, as the occupying force, to cease all violations against the Palestinian populace and their sacred sites. It also urged Israel to abide by international mandates.
Moreover, Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
