Qatar Showcases Culture at Baku International Book Fair 2025

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The Baku International Book Fair started on Wednesday in Azerbaijan. The event will continue until October 7, 2025. This year, the State of Qatar is the guest of honor. The participation of Qatar highlights its efforts to share its culture and literary works with an international audience.

Qatar’s Cultural Presence

Qatar’s Ministry of Culture (MoC) is representing the country at the fair. Their participation shows Qatar’s dedication to promoting local literature, intellectual work, and cultural achievements. It also reflects Qatar’s active role in supporting both Arab and global cultural platforms.

Promoting Collaboration and Creativity

Through this participation, Qatar is strengthening collaboration with cultural institutions and publishing houses worldwide. The fair provides a chance to present Qatar as a center of creativity and cultural diversity. The MoC is focused on enhancing cultural exchanges and connecting innovators, publishers, and other cultural contributors.

The Qatari Pavilion Experience

Qatar’s pavilion is designed to reflect traditional Qatari architecture. Visitors can enjoy a rich and immersive cultural experience. The pavilion offers displays of literature, live handicraft demonstrations, and other cultural activities that showcase the nation’s heritage.

High Visitor Turnout

On the first day, the pavilion received a record number of visitors from various countries. People came to explore Qatari culture, view books and publications by the MoC, and watch live demonstrations of traditional crafts. The turnout shows strong interest in Qatar’s cultural contributions.

Intellectual and Artistic Programs

Alongside the pavilion, Qatar is participating in symposiums, lectures, musical performances, and poetry evenings. A photographic exhibition also allows visitors to experience a visual journey through Doha. These programs provide a comprehensive view of Qatari culture and creativity.

Promoting Knowledge and Arts

Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, said that Qatar’s participation highlights its commitment to sharing knowledge, literature, poetry, thought, and arts with a global audience.

Showcasing Heritage and Innovation

The Qatari pavilion includes traditional folk music, heritage craft demonstrations, and Arabic calligraphy. It also hosts a cultural symposium and a children’s pavilion, encouraging young people to develop a love for reading. The pavilion’s design connects Qatar’s past and present, combining authenticity with modern innovation.

Wide Array of Cultural Works

Visitors can explore a variety of cultural and literary works, including books, intellectual publications, and artistic pieces. The pavilion provides a platform to understand Qatar’s cultural scene in depth, allowing attendees to appreciate its literature, heritage, and artistic achievements.

Qatar on Global Cultural Stage

Qatar’s presence at the Baku International Book Fair demonstrates its commitment to promoting culture and knowledge on the world stage. Through its pavilion, programs, and exhibitions, the country presents a complete image of Qatari culture, blending tradition with innovation and fostering international understanding.
