The Al Noor Quranic Educational Centre, which is part of the Department of Da’wa and Religious Guidance under Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, has launched a special summer course. This new program has been designed for 30 of the most outstanding Qatari students. The goal of the program is to use the summer vacation as a chance for students to strengthen their memorization of the Holy Quran and gain valuable skills at the same time.

Helping Students Grow in Faith and Knowledge

The summer break is often a time for relaxation, but this course turns it into a time of personal and spiritual growth. The course not only focuses on the Holy Quran but also aims to help the students improve their general academic and educational skills. These young students are seen as future leaders in their communities, and this course supports their development in a way that balances religious and modern education.

Three Weeks of Focused Quran Memorization

The course lasts for a total of three weeks. Every day, each student is required to memorize two full pages of the Holy Quran. This might sound like a big task, but the students are guided and supported by trained teachers and mentors throughout. In addition to learning new verses each day, the students are also expected to review the verses they had previously memorized. This constant practice helps them improve both memory and recitation.

Not Just Memorizing—Understanding and Living the Quran

The summer course goes beyond just repeating verses. Students are also introduced to the meanings of the Quranic verses. They are taught to understand what they are memorizing so they can live by its teachings. This deeper connection with the Quran helps students become more thoughtful and conscious of their faith and values.

Spiritual Training and Practical Worship Sessions

Another major part of the course is spiritual and religious training. The students take part in regular worship sessions where they learn about Islamic practices in a practical way. This includes learning how to properly perform prayers, understand their significance, and apply Islamic manners and behavior in everyday life. These sessions help shape their identity and make religion a natural part of their lifestyle.

Vocal Development and Confidence Building

One of the interesting parts of this program is how it includes vocal training sessions. These help students improve their public speaking and recitation skills. It allows them to confidently recite the Quran aloud, deliver religious messages, and build communication skills that will benefit them in school and life. These skills also prepare them to lead prayers or deliver short talks in the future.

Fun and Fitness Through Sports and Activities

To keep students energized and engaged, the course also includes sports activities and recreational games. These are essential in breaking the routine and keeping the students physically active and mentally refreshed. The goal is to maintain a balance between religious, educational, and physical well-being, all while ensuring that students enjoy their summer vacation.

Educational and Recreational Trips

As part of the complete learning experience, students go on educational and recreational trips. These trips are carefully planned to give the students exposure outside of the classroom. They might visit historical sites, mosques, Islamic museums, or nature parks. Such outings not only give students a break but also help them understand Islamic history and culture in a more practical and engaging way.

Cybersecurity and Modern Knowledge

This summer course also includes unique learning opportunities in modern fields like cybersecurity. Students are introduced to the basics of safe internet use and how to protect their personal data online. This is a very important life skill in today’s digital world. Including such topics shows how the course combines tradition with modernity, preparing students for future challenges.

Chanting Sessions and Call to Prayer Training

The program also includes chanting sessions (nasheed) where students learn religious songs that teach values in a joyful way. These activities improve their vocal skills and appreciation of Islamic art. Additionally, students are trained in how to give the call to prayer (Adhan). This practice helps them understand the importance of the Adhan and gives them the ability to perform it in their local mosques or communities.

Interactive and Value-Based Learning Environment

The whole course is based on interactive learning. This means students are not just sitting and listening—they are involved in discussions, activities, group work, and practical demonstrations. This makes learning enjoyable and effective. The program also strongly focuses on Islamic values like honesty, respect, teamwork, discipline, and kindness. These values are taught through daily activities and interactions.

Ministry’s Vision for a Stronger Religious Generation

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The Ministry wants to invest in the future by training young people who understand their religion and values. The goal is to prepare students to become imams, preachers, and community leaders in the future. They want these students to be good role models in society who spread positive teachings.

Positive Feedback from the Students

Many students have expressed their happiness and satisfaction with the program. They say it helped them improve their Quran memorization, taught them many new things, and gave them a fun and meaningful way to spend the summer. They also enjoyed the mix of spiritual, academic, and physical activities that the course offered.

Appreciation for the Ministry and Course Organizers

Parents and students alike have praised the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs for organizing such a valuable course. They believe that such initiatives show the Ministry’s true commitment to youth development. Offering this type of program during the summer ensures that students don’t waste their time but use it in a way that benefits their future.

Plans to Expand Programs in the Future

After the success of this summer course, the Al Noor Quranic Educational Centre and the Ministry plan to continue offering similar programs. They hope to reach even more students and include more topics in the future. The aim is to continue building a generation that is both spiritually strong and intellectually prepared.
