Qatar Minister Says Education Helps Youth Learn Skills and Grow

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, spoke about the key role of educational and academic institutions in building national talent and capabilities. He explained that these institutions provide the foundation for young people to develop their skills, gain knowledge, and prepare for future challenges.

The Minister highlighted that diligence, hard work, and perseverance are essential for young people to achieve their goals. He said these qualities help students not only in education but also in contributing to the overall progress of the country. By focusing on their studies and projects, students can become active participants in Qatar’s development and growth.

Dr. Al Subaie delivered these remarks during a lecture at Qatar Foundation’s Academic Bridge Program (ABP). The lecture was attended by ABP students, senior management team members, and Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation. The Minister used the opportunity to encourage students to remain committed to learning and to make the most of the opportunities offered by ABP.

During his visit, the Minister was briefed on several student projects. These included initiatives focused on environmental sustainability and innovative uses of artificial intelligence. The students’ projects demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills, reflecting the high level of training and education provided by the ABP.

Dr. Al Subaie also learned about the educational and training programs offered by ABP. These programs prepare pre-university students for higher education and help them gain the necessary skills to succeed in top universities, both in Qatar and internationally. The Minister praised the efforts of ABP in supporting students’ academic growth and preparing them for future careers.

The Academic Bridge Program was established in 2001 by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation and Education Above All. It is one of Qatar’s leading academic centers, aiming to qualify students for admission to universities in Education City as well as other top local and international institutions. ABP plays a vital role in bridging the gap between pre-university education and higher education opportunities.

HE Dr. Al Subaie’s visit highlighted the importance of education in developing youth talent and building national capacity. By interacting with students and reviewing their projects, the Minister underscored the value of academic programs that combine practical skills, innovation, and creativity. He encouraged students to remain dedicated, work hard, and continue striving for excellence.

The visit also emphasized Qatar’s commitment to investing in education as a national priority. Programs like ABP not only help individual students succeed but also contribute to the country’s overall progress. By nurturing young talent, Qatar ensures a skilled and capable future workforce ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving world.
