The U-18 Beach Volleyball World Championship will take place in Doha, Qatar, from October 7 to 11, 2025. The matches will be held at Al Gharafa Beach Courts. Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and West Asian Volleyball Association (WAVA), said this event is an important milestone in developing volleyball in Qatar.
Teams and Referees Ready for the Tournament
Al Kuwari confirmed that all preparations are complete to host the international teams. The tournament will feature 32 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams from 55 countries. The matches will be supervised by 13 international referees and 36 local referees from Qatar. The preparations aim to ensure smooth and fair competition for all participants.
A Step Towards Bigger Events
The championship in Doha is considered a step forward in organizing larger volleyball events in the future. Al Kuwari noted that Qatar is preparing to host the 2029 FIVB World Championship. Hosting such events will strengthen Qatar’s position on the global volleyball map and promote the sport among young players.

Al Kuwari also mentioned the performance of young Qatari players like Ziyad and Moussa, who competed in the West Asian Men’s Championship. Their success and skill reflect the promising future of volleyball in Qatar. These young athletes are expected to play an important role in the national teams for upcoming international competitions.
Harmony and Cohesion in QVA
Secretary General of the QVA, Yousef Kanoo, emphasized that the team working within the QVA operates with great harmony and cohesion. This unity has helped them achieve recent successes in volleyball. Kanoo pledged that the U-18 tournament will be organized in a way that reflects Qatar’s high standards and reputation in sports.
Technical and Organizational Excellence
Mohammed Salem Al Kuwari, a member of the QVA Board of Directors, said that Qatar is on the right track in all areas of volleyball. This includes both hosting tournaments and achieving technical progress in the sport. The national teams have won seven gold medals in various championships, showing strong results in both indoor and beach volleyball.
