Qatar Engages in Strategic Security Dialogue Over Strait of Hormuz

During a video conference, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani engaged in discussions centered on a multinational military initiative regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

The meeting was convened by UK Secretary of State for Defense John Healey alongside French Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Catherine Vautrin.

Officials outlined strategies to uphold freedom of navigation and secure the smooth transit of maritime vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, stemming from agreements made related to the ongoing regional situation.

Emphasizing the significance of safeguarding maritime security in this pivotal shipping corridor for global trade and energy resources, the discussions underscored the collaborative spirit of the nations involved.

Qatar’s involvement highlights its ongoing commitment to fostering regional partnerships and international initiatives devoted to ensuring stability within the Gulf region.
