Qatar has expressed strong disapproval following the incursion of Israel's National Security Minister into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, along with the provocative actions of Israeli settlers, all under the watch of Israeli occupation forces.
On Friday, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs labeled the incident a significant violation of both international law and humanitarian law. The ministry emphasized that such acts represent an unacceptable provocation towards millions of Muslims globally.
Qatar further condemned the restrictions placed on worshippers aiming to access Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that these repeated actions threaten to alter the historical and legal status of occupied Jerusalem along with its sacred Islamic and Christian sites.
The ministry reiterated that Al-Aqsa Mosque is solely a Muslim place of worship. They added that all unilateral actions that seek to modify the identity and legal standing of Jerusalem and its holy places are deemed invalid under international law.
Qatar cautioned that ongoing infringements and provocative behaviors could exacerbate violence and unrest in the region, undermining efforts for restoring peace and stability.
The ministry reiterated its call for the international community to take immediate measures to halt Israel's continuous violations against the Palestinian people and their sacred sites, urging Israel to comply with international resolutions.
Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting its backing for the creation of an independent Palestinian state with 1967 borders, inclusive of East Jerusalem as its capital.
