Qatar Shooting Team Wins Two Golds, One Silver in Morocco

The Qatari national shooting team delivered an impressive performance at the ongoing Arab Shotgun Championship in Tangier, Morocco. Over the course of the skeet events, the team secured a total of three medals, including two golds and one silver, reflecting their strong preparation and commitment.

Gold for Rashid Saleh Al Athba in Men's Skeet

Rashid Saleh Al Athba showcased exceptional skill and focus to win the gold medal in the Men’s Skeet Individual competition. His precise shooting and consistency throughout the event established him as a top contender and brought pride to the Qatari team.

Hajar Ghulam Mohammed Triumphs in Women’s Skeet

On the women’s side, Hajar Ghulam Mohammed claimed the gold medal in the Women’s Skeet Individual event. Her outstanding performance demonstrated her expertise and determination, marking a significant achievement for Qatar in the women’s category.

Silver for Men’s Skeet Team

The Men’s Skeet Team, consisting of Rashid Saleh Al Athba, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, and Abdulaziz Al Attiya, earned the silver medal in the team event. Their collaborative effort and consistent performance under intense competition were key to securing this podium finish.

Upcoming Trap Events to Begin

The next segment of the championship will feature trap shooting competitions, scheduled to take place from Thursday, September 25, through Saturday, September 27, 2025. The Qatari team is preparing to build on their success in the skeet events and aim for further medals in trap shooting.

Prestigious Regional Competition

The Arab Shotgun Championship brings together 60 elite shooters representing eight nations: Morocco, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Oman. This highly competitive event provides an important platform for athletes to showcase their skills and prepare for upcoming international contests.

Qatari Team Leadership Praises Performance

Ahmed Khaled Al Darwish, Head of the Qatari Delegation and Director of the Skeet Shooting Program, expressed his satisfaction with the athletes’ performance. He highlighted the challenging competition in the skeet events and praised the team for consistently delivering high-level results.

Focus on Pride and Dedication

Al Darwish emphasized that the shooters were determined to reach the podium and proudly display the Qatari flag at this prestigious regional championship. Securing gold in both Men’s and Women’s Individual Skeet, alongside silver in the Men’s Team Skeet, reflects the athletes’ dedication, preparation, and skill.

Preparation for World Championship in Greece

Participation in the Arab Championship also serves as preparation for the upcoming World Shotgun Championship in Greece, scheduled to take place in three weeks. Al Darwish expressed optimism for the trap events starting tomorrow and aimed for continued success and additional medals for Qatar.

Qatari Delegation in Tangier

The Qatari delegation includes members of both skeet and trap shooting teams. The skeet team comprises Abdulaziz Al Attiya, Mohamed Al-Kuwari, Rashid Saleh Al Athba, Masoud Saleh Al Athba, Hajar Ghulam Mohammed, Hajar Mohammed, Sarah Mohammed, and Aisha Al Ansari. The trap team features Mohamed Al Rumaihi, Angelo Scalzoni, Rashid Hamad Al Athba, Ray Basil, Khulood Al Khalaf, Maitha Al Binali, and Amna Al Abdullah. The delegation is supported by Director of the Trap Shooting Program, Masoud Al Athba.
