The Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, along with QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, participated in the Executive Board meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Bahrain. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 3rd Asian Youth Games and gathered senior officials to discuss upcoming sporting events and strategic initiatives for Asian sports development.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the latest updates on the 20th Asian Games scheduled for next year in Nagoya, Japan. Discussions focused on logistical arrangements, scheduling, and coordination with participating countries to ensure the successful execution of the Games. The officials emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards and promoting the Olympic spirit throughout the tournament.
The OCA Executive Board also addressed preparations for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The meeting highlighted the significance of ensuring smooth organization, infrastructure readiness, and athlete support systems for a successful multi-sport event. Key strategies were discussed to enhance operational efficiency and promote regional sports excellence.
Another key agenda item discussed during the meeting was the upcoming OCA General Assembly, scheduled for January in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Officials outlined plans for agenda setting, member participation, and decision-making processes to advance the Asian Olympic movement. The assembly aims to foster collaboration among member countries and strengthen governance and development strategies in Asian sports.
Throughout the meeting, OCA board members focused on decisions to advance the Olympic movement in Asia and align activities with future aspirations. Emphasis was placed on supporting athletes, enhancing regional cooperation, and promoting sustainable development of sports across the continent. The meeting reinforced the commitment of QOC leaders to actively contribute to Asian sports governance and development initiatives.
