The Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai (RIT Dubai), situated in Dubai Silicon Oasis, proudly celebrated its 15th graduation ceremony, graced by the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ).

Hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the ceremony recognized 394 graduates from a diverse array of 16 undergraduate and master’s programmes.

The event garnered attention from several prominent figures, including Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Essa Kazim, US Consul General Robert Raines, and Dr. Yousef Al Assaf.

In his address, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum highlighted how this graduation symbolizes Dubai’s commitment to nurturing talent equipped for future challenges, innovation, and a knowledge-driven economy. He reiterated the integral role of education in bolstering Dubai’s global standing and future aspirations in line with the UAE Centennial 2071 and "We the UAE 2031" vision.

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni emphasized the collaborative effort between DIEZ and RIT Dubai to cultivate an ecosystem focused on innovation, technology, and sustainable development. He praised the university’s efforts in preparing skilled professionals to meet the demands of future industries and contribute to Dubai’s digital transformation.

RIT Dubai President Dr. Yousef Al Assaf remarked on the university's continued expansion in academic offerings to align with the evolving global job market. This year notably marked the graduation of the university’s first cohort in Psychology, alongside advancements in research centers concentrating on sustainability, advanced manufacturing, smart cities, energy, and future studies.

The graduating class featured students from nine bachelor’s programmes including electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering, marketing, finance, global business management, cybersecurity, psychology, and computing and information technologies.

In addition to undergraduate qualifications, students also earned accolades from seven master's programmes, encompassing fields such as data analytics, cybersecurity, smart cities, futures foresight and planning, engineering management, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Since its inception in 2010, RIT Dubai has produced over 2,490 graduates across bachelor’s, master’s, and diploma programmes, solidifying its influence in Dubai's higher education landscape.

This year, the university unveiled new undergraduate offerings in Management Information Systems and Advertising & Public Relations, alongside accredited micro-master’s programmes in Health Informatics and Futures Foresight, providing students with flexible options for education and professional growth.

RIT Dubai also introduced a dual-degree engineering programme enabling students to pursue both bachelor's and master's degrees more efficiently and economically.

Future initiatives include launching a master’s programme in Integrated Design, a bachelor’s programme in Computer Engineering, and micro-programmes in Accounting and Financial Analytics. The university is also developing a media design programme dedicated to People of Determination.

As a branch of the Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT Dubai continues to reinforce its position as a leader in innovation and advanced education in the UAE through specialized programmes and collaborations with both public and private sectors.
