Sabrina Carpenter Criticizes White House Over Music Use

Post by : Meena Hassan

Pop artist Sabrina Carpenter has publicly criticized the White House after her song “Juno” was featured in a video highlighting immigration enforcement actions.

The Grammy award-winning musician described the video as “evil and disgusting,” asserting, “Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.” Her publicist directed questions to Carpenter’s social media announcement.

During her current tour, Carpenter has humorously staged mock “arrests” with fellow artists while singing “Juno,” utilizing fluffy pink handcuffs.

In response, the White House quoted Carpenter’s lyrics with a statement: “Here’s a Short n’ Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won’t apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country. Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?” — remarked spokesperson Abigail Jackson.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the video remained active on platforms X and TikTok.

This incident is not isolated; last month, a video utilizing Olivia Rodrigo’s “All-American Bitch” faced removal on Instagram after her objection. It continues to circulate on X. Similarly, unauthorized posts featuring Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” have drawn varied reactions from the respective artists.
