Salman Khan, 59, Credits Six-Day Training and Home-Cooked Meals for His Toned Physique

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

Bollywood star Salman Khan shared a shirtless photograph on Instagram on Monday, November 3, showing a lean, muscular physique that quickly circulated online. His caption—"Kuch haasil karne ke liye kuch chhodna padta hai… Yeh bina chhode hai"—was widely noted; the actor later explained he achieved the look without drastic measures.

The post suggested Salman avoids extreme diets and faddish plans. His upkeep relies on consistent training, traditional workout forms and regular home-cooked meals—what he refers to as "ghar ka khana."

Salman’s commitment to fitness is well-known. His long-term trainer, Rakkesh R. Uddiyar, spoke with LiveMint earlier this year about the actor’s program and its core principles.

Rakkesh described Salman’s regimen as old-school bodybuilding that uses a "giant set" approach, a high-intensity sequence of exercises performed in close succession. This method resembles High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in its emphasis on sustained effort.

Typical sessions include about 10 chest-focused movements—such as incline presses, push-ups and fly variations—sequenced without long pauses.

Salman limits rest between moves, taking only brief pauses when switching exercises, usually around 30 seconds. Workouts typically last 45 minutes to an hour and are executed with high intensity, often without air conditioning.

Rather than lifting maximal loads, he emphasises volume training: more repetitions with moderate weights to build muscle endurance while reducing injury risk.

As Rakkesh put it, "HIIT makes you sweat, tires you faster, and burns more calories in less time," a principle that shapes much of the actor’s conditioning.

Diet is equally straightforward. Salman prefers simple, nutritious home-cooked meals over elaborate diet plans or heavy supplement use.

He reportedly enjoys traditional Indian dishes that are easy to digest and energy-rich, avoids processed junk food, and pays attention to hydration during and after training.

Rakkesh noted the actor adjusts calorie and macronutrient intake depending on film requirements but maintains one core rule: "Eat clean and eat simple." Regular staples include grilled chicken, eggs, dal, vegetables and brown rice.

Beyond exercise and diet, Salman follows a disciplined daily routine—timely sleep, early starts and training at least six days a week—prioritising consistency over extreme measures.

Rakkesh highlighted Salman’s internal drive: he treats fitness as a long-term lifestyle. "He’s one of the most committed people I’ve trained," the coach said, adding that Salman rarely skips sessions unless necessary.

Fitness professionals say this steady, balanced approach—regular workouts, wholesome home-cooked food and avoidance of extremes—is sustainable and effective across ages.

The recent Instagram post reinforced that message: lasting results come from persistence, sensible choices and disciplined habits rather than quick fixes or drastic sacrifices.

At 59, Salman continues to be a visible example for fans, demonstrating that consistent routines, clean eating and a focused mindset can maintain strength and vitality well into later years.
