Saudi Arabia Celebrates Levantine Culture with New Festival

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Media launched the “Levant Culture” activities on Tuesday as part of the “Global Harmony 2” initiative, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA). This festival aims to unite communities, promote cultural appreciation, and showcase the diverse traditions within Saudi Arabia. Residents have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the Levant region through interactive experiences.

This festival also plays a pivotal role in the Kingdom’s Quality of Life Program, aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals. The initiative seeks to enhance the living standards by offering cultural, social, and recreational activities for citizens. This gathering underlines Saudi Arabia's dedication to creating inclusive events that honor global cultures while fostering understanding and harmony among its residents.

Spanning three days, the Levant Culture festival showcases the cultural richness of Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon. The event features artistic performances, heritage exhibits, and engaging displays. Attendees can explore traditional attire, artisan crafts, and enjoy tastings of popular Levantine dishes. A variety of artists will perform on stage, offering music, dance, and other cultural expressions designed to entertain and engage the audience.

This vibrant festival atmosphere invites people to enjoy, learn, and engage with diverse cultural traditions. It also serves as a platform for Levantine artists to present their talents and heritage to both the Kingdom's residents and visitors.

On Wednesday, the festivities will continue with a series of artistic and folkloric performances that showcase an array of Levantine heritage. Attendees can revel in traditional music, dances, and cultural exhibits that illustrate everyday life and customs from the Levant region. Additionally, educational experiences will be offered to enhance understanding of the history, traditions, and arts from Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.

The “Global Harmony 2” initiative has drawn more than 800,000 attendees from various nationalities, showcasing the celebration of Levantine culture and the integration of residents within Saudi society. It emphasizes the collaborative efforts of government and private sectors to enhance cultural life and social engagement across the Kingdom.

Through the Levant Culture festival under the Global Harmony 2 initiative, Saudi Arabia reaffirms its commitment to celebrating cultural diversity and fostering community interaction. By showcasing art, heritage, and traditions from the Levant region, the event creates a welcoming environment for learning and connection. Residents and visitors alike experience a dynamic event that enriches cultural understanding and nurtures harmony within the Kingdom, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to elevate the quality of life for all.
