Trinidad Minister Visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Abu Dhabi

Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi along with senior officials from his country. The delegation toured the mosque’s halls, corridors, and external areas while receiving detailed briefings about the mosque’s history, cultural significance, and role in promoting coexistence, tolerance, and openness.

The minister and his team learned about the mosque’s establishment, its design, and the Islamic art that decorates its interiors. They explored how different Islamic architectural styles come together in harmony, reflecting a unique cultural blend that highlights the beauty of diversity in a single monumental structure.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the mosque’s architectural features, including its domes, minarets, and intricate patterns. The tour also emphasized the mosque’s mission of fostering peace and cultural understanding among different communities.

At the end of the visit, Sean Sobers was presented with a copy of the book “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace.” The book showcases the mosque’s architectural elegance and includes award-winning photographs from the “Spaces of Light” competition, offering readers a visual journey of its artistic and cultural heritage.

The visit reflected the strong ties between the UAE and Trinidad and Tobago, highlighting mutual respect for cultural values and historical heritage. It also reinforced the significance of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as a global symbol of tolerance, openness, and spiritual unity.
