Sheikh Hazza Raises UAE Flag on National Flag Day

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, led a patriotic ceremony to celebrate UAE Flag Day by raising the national flag at Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain. The event, held annually on 3rd November, symbolises the unity, loyalty, and enduring strength of the Emirati people under the nation’s leadership.

The UAE Flag Day marks more than just a national tradition—it reflects the values of belonging, pride, and unity that connect citizens and residents alike. Sheikh Hazza highlighted that this day celebrates the profound connection between the UAE’s glorious past and its remarkable present, built upon the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The official ceremony at Al Jahili Fort was attended by families of fallen heroes, who were honoured for the sacrifices made by their loved ones in service of the nation. School students from the Al Ain Region also took part in the event, reinforcing the importance of passing national pride and loyalty to future generations. The celebration began with a moving performance of the UAE national anthem by the Armed Forces’ military band, followed by the raising of the national flag, symbolising the strength and resilience of the Emirati spirit.

Al Jahili Fort, one of the UAE’s most significant historical landmarks, served as a fitting location for this national occasion. Sheikh Hazza noted that raising the flag at such a symbolic site highlights the nation’s deep respect for its history and heritage, while celebrating its progress and achievements. The fort stands as a proud reminder of the UAE’s roots and the unwavering unity that continues to guide the nation forward.

In his speech, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed reaffirmed that Flag Day embodies the unity and strength of the Emirati people, who remain deeply loyal to their leadership and flag. He described the UAE flag as a symbol of sovereignty, pride, and glory, representing the collective determination of the people to uphold the values and achievements of the Union.

Sheikh Hazza emphasised that raising the UAE flag each year is a tribute to the spirit of unity and patriotism that defines Emirati society. He praised the nation’s citizens for their unwavering faith in the values of the Union, established by the country’s founding fathers. According to him, the flag represents not just a national emblem, but also a beacon of progress and stability guiding the country toward a bright future.

Sheikh Hazza also pointed out that the celebration of Flag Day at Al Jahili Fort serves as a symbolic bridge between the UAE’s rich history and its promising future. The site’s heritage reflects the determination and vision that have shaped the nation, while the event itself represents the UAE’s continuous journey of growth, development, and global leadership.

The Ruler’s Representative praised the UAE leadership for its visionary commitment to sustainable development, which has strengthened the country’s global standing. He added that the UAE’s flag will always serve as a symbol of ambition, progress, and unity, representing the tireless efforts of its people to achieve excellence in every field.

Sheikh Hazza concluded by affirming that the UAE flag will always remain a powerful symbol of national identity, unity, and dignity. It reflects the determination of the Emirati people to protect their achievements and continue building a nation that stands as a model of prosperity and peace. The flag, he said, represents the collective pride of a nation whose people are united in loyalty, guided by visionary leadership, and inspired by the legacy of their forefathers.

UAE Flag Day continues to be a moment of reflection and renewal across the country. It serves as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, unity, and leadership that have shaped the UAE’s success. The event at Al Jahili Fort not only celebrated these ideals but also reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to preserving its heritage and pursuing progress under its beloved flag.
