Post by : Bianca Haleem

On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led the Eid Al-Adha prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, joined by senior UAE leaders, officials, and worshippers.

Accompanying the UAE President were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

The prayer congregation included various members of the ruling family and notable officials, such as Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others.

In his Eid sermon, Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, emphasized the significance of honesty and sincerity in nurturing robust communities and prosperous nations.

Titled “Our Eid is sincerity and sacrifice,” the sermon underscored that trust and stability are built on honesty. He noted that the UAE leadership has fostered the country based on values of honesty, unity, and dedication, which have been instrumental in the nation’s advancement.

Dr. Al Darei highlighted that honesty entails devotion to the homeland and genuine service to the nation. Examples of true commitment include protecting national interests, instilling good values in children, responsibly fulfilling duties, and contributing to the nation’s progress.

After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed exchanged Eid greetings with the worshippers at the mosque.

Additionally, the UAE President and the attending Sheikhs recited Surah Al Fatiha in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
