The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) is set to represent the UAE at the esteemed Bologna Children's Book Fair 2026, occurring from April 13 to 16 in Bologna. This participation underscores their dedication to enhancing the international presence of Emirati publishing.

By attending this renowned event, the EPA aims to forge international collaborations, uplift high-caliber Arabic children’s literature, and establish the UAE as a crucial participant in the global publishing arena.

Regarded as the premier global venue for children's and young adult literature, the Bologna Children's Book Fair attracts leading publishers, writers, illustrators, translators, and industry experts worldwide. The event acts as a key platform for rights exchanges, partnerships, and discussions on prevailing trends in the publishing sector.

At the exhibition, the EPA is presenting a handpicked array of distinguished Emirati publishing houses. Notable participants include Alamkoum Publishing & Distribution, known for creating engaging educational content that merges storytelling with play. Mimo Quirks, recognized for its innovative visual narratives, and Ghaf Publishing which promotes a reading culture anchored in local identity, are also featured.

Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of EPA, emphasized that their presence at the fair aligns with a forward-thinking vision aimed at progressing the UAE’s publishing sector and showcasing the richness of local narratives to a worldwide audience.

He highlighted that the fair serves as a critical juncture for establishing bonds with leading global publishers and institutions focused on children’s literature, fostering cultural exchanges and the development of competitive Arabic content.

Al Kous added that the event will provide insightful perspectives on the evolution of children's publishing, allowing Emirati publishers to explore sustainable models that encourage a new generation of enthusiastic readers.

Through its involvement, the Emirates Publishers Association aims to fortify the publishing environment, broaden the landscape of Arabic literature, and enhance the UAE’s stature as a key regional and international publishing center.
